SAVAR’s Silver Medal at the 34th Mundus Vini

We're excited to share that our SAVAR red dry wine from the 2021 harvest won the Silver Medal at the 34th Mundus Vini International Wine Competition's spring tasting!

The Mundus Vini International Wine Competition is a wine contest where the world's best wines present their wine quality and give a taste of what's happening around the world, waiting for the jury's decision.

"The jury has only basic information about the wines like vintage and grape variety, so focus during the judgment is completely on the quality in the bottle," emphasized Christian Wolf, the Director of Degustation.

The six-day event took place in the ancient Saalbau municipal hall in Neustadt/Weinstrasse, Germany, and drew over 250 wine specialists from 55 different countries. The ceremony was held in the center of the Pfalz wine-growing area; the competition highlighted the diversity and quality of the international wine business by delivering wines from 45 different countries.

At the spring tasting of the 34th Mundus Vini International Wine Competition, notable winners included renowned wineries such as Vinaria Purcari from Moldova, DGB from South Africa, R&A Pfaffl from Austria, Anecoop from Spain, and Fantini Group from Italy, alongside SAVAR. Together, these honored producers won an astounding 163 Silver, Gold, and Grand Gold honors.

"For an Armenian winemaker, nothing is more pleasing than having their goods recognized by the world's wine community," noted Nelli Abrahamyan, the director of SAVAR winery.

The victory of the red dry wine marks a new chapter for the inspiration of contesting in even more competitions with pride and staying true to the brand's mission. SAVAR's red wine is made of the Areni grape variety, which contains 13.5% alcohol with a mild bitterness and soft spiciness, leaving a unique and brand-name aftertaste.

In addition, the board of MUNDUS VINI is arranging an awards ceremony during the ProWein trade show to honor wine producers who have received special recognition, such as "Best of Show" or "Best Producer." ProWein is noted as the world's largest wine and spirits trade show, scheduled to take place in Düsseldorf from March 10–12, 2024. The event will feature tastings of more than 350 award-winning wines, and representatives from SAVAR will attend to showcase their exceptional wines from the country.
